A Few Home Truths.
If we had a penny for every time we’d heard the immortal words: “I don’t like trust marketing agencies”, we’d probably have - well. About a pound by now. But pounds and pennies aside, trust is a common issue between agencies and clients, and even the most optimistic of business owners can falter when faced with a marketing team who don’t deliver on their initial plans. NCF Living was one retail giant who had been burnt, and badly. Our team were challenged to change their minds - and fast.
Furniture business owner Soheb from NCF Living first came to Kubix through the Shopify Experts Marketplace. He said that he was almost ready to abandon working with agencies altogether, after not one but two instances of agencies not delivering on what they’d promised, Soheb was sick of the inconsistencies between expectation and reality. His NCF Living store was already on Shopify at the time, selling their furniture collections on a bespoke website that had cost a lot to build. But despite the heavy costs of building a custom store, the site was broken across different browsers and had a shockingly low conversion rate of less than 0.15%. The NCF team were also paying an agency for marketing services, and their reports were stuffed with statistics of impressions and clicks, but avoided any mention of physical sales. Our team analysed the problem, and spoke our minds.
“Can we be honest, Soheb?” we said to him. “You need a new website.”
