Getting The Ingredients Together
With designs sitting pretty, it was time to turn the vision into a reality. Phil, our Lead Developer on the project, lives in Northern Ireland, and is a frequent customer of Slim's Healthy Kitchen, Freshly Prep’d’s sister brand. A fan of their jerk chicken and fruit smoothies in particular, Phil was keen to take the lead on transforming Freshly Prep’d’s online presence.
Unlike most e-commerce stores that sell products within a variety of collections, Freshly Prep’d presented a unique technical challenge. With subscriptions, one-off orders, gym-based collections and home delivery on offer, a one-size-fits-all Shopify implementation was never going to be sufficient.
Our development team flexed their capabilities, working on one of our most ambitious implementations of Recharge to date. Recharge is a powerful Shopify integration, extending the standard capabilities of a Shopify store to provide a multitude of subscription options to customers.
As an official Recharge Agency Partner, our team worked closely with Recharge to develop a custom implementation of the app, able to accommodate Freshly Prep’d’s variety of delivery and collection options, as well as different sized bundles. We leveraged the best of Recharge’s capabilities, such as by using Recharge Bundles to allow customers to customise their meals each week after subscribing.
One of the biggest pinch points for Freshly Prep’d concerned the process of transferring order information from online to offline, and getting the right orders out to their chefs. Kubix implemented the Report Pundit App, a unique Shopify integration that substantially extends the reporting capabilities of Shopify. Using the app, Freshly Prep’d is able to create custom reports that extract precisely the right information their team needs at the right time.
We also implemented live chat from Tawk.io, allowing customers to easily ask questions, as well as Cencus from Vervaunt, which creates post-purchase surveys for customers, fostering a process of feedback and continual improvement. And last but not least, we helped Freshly Prep’d invest in their marketing by implementing Klaviyo for emails, streamlining both their front and backend operations.
